CASE STUDY
CITIZEN BLUE: THE JAMES BLUE STORY
THE PROBLEM
Fire River Pictures contacted the CurtDoty.co to help them promote their latest documentary celebrating the life and films of filmmaker and educator James Blue.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The strategy was to build a film marketing site that supported the film with recent trailers, clips, press kits and downloadable elements for promotion.
THE WEBSITE
The website Curt designed and built became a new hub for the campaign, housing all the content marketing, press materials and credits for the film.
Citizen Blue: The James Blue Story is a documentary film about James Blue, the most important, but lesser known, film makers, scholars, teachers, and citizens of the Twentieth Century. It tells the story of his life and work but more importantly of US and World cinema during the post WWII era of profound cinema, social, cultural and political transformations of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. James Blue was at the center of all of them and is thus a touchstone and guide to encounter, witness, and understand them. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Oregon James Blue made his way to the internationally renowned French Cinema School IDHEC in the 1950s at the height of the French New Wave, from there he journeyed to Algeria where he directed the first Cannes Critics Prize award winning film Olive Trees of Justice.
